Michal Basista

Age 19, Poland

Michal Basista started to play the piano at the age of 4. Since 2023, he has been a student

of Milena Kędra in the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kracow, Poland. He won 15 first prizes and 5 Grand Prix, participating in over 60 nationwide and international music competitions. He also

participated in many piano courses and open lessons with professors and esteemed pianists such

as: Andrzej Jasiński, Andrzej Pikul, Ewa Pobłocka, Alicja Paleta-Bugaj, Mikhail Voskresenski, Zbigniew Raubo, Janusz Olejniczak and Kevin Kenner.

 

He has played recitals at the NOSPR (Katowice), at the Royal Castles in Warsaw and Kraków, and at the Philharmonics in Zilina and Kraków. He has received the Minister of Culture and National Heritage (twice) and the National Children’s Fund Scholarships five times in a row.
